Enabling the ability to take deposits on orders can streamline your booking process and provide flexibility for both your business and customers. Follow these steps to activate this feature:
Step 1: Navigate to Settings
- Go to your system setup within your platform.
- Find the configurations section.
- Navigate to order settings.
- Locate the option for deposit amounts.
Step 2: Choose Deposit Type
In the deposit amounts section, you'll find three options:
- A. Disabled: This option means the deposit feature is not offered. Select this if you do not want to enable deposits for your orders.
- B. Percentage (%): With this option, you can set a percentage of the order total as the deposit. Note that the percentage does not include any booking fees. It is recommended not to set the deposit percentage below the booking fee and to consider including both the booking fee and an additional percentage as the deposit. Any amount above the booking fee will go to the vendor.
- C. Fixed: Here, you can set a fixed amount as the deposit. If your fixed rate fee is less than the booking fee, the system will charge the customer the minimum booking fee required. Any amount above the booking fee will go to the vendor.
Step 3: Select Location
Choose where you would like the deposit to be available Booking Portal only, Internally only or both.
Step 4: Select Payment Options
Choose the payment options that will be available for customers to pay the deposit on the booking portal. This ensures flexibility for your customers in completing the deposit payment.
Step 5: Save Changes
After configuring the deposit settings and selecting payment options, remember to hit the save button located at the bottom right corner of the screen. This action will implement any changes you've made and activate the deposit feature for your orders.
How the Deposit Option Appears on the Booking Portal
Once enabled, customers will see the deposit option during the booking process. This provides transparency and clarity regarding payment requirements, enhancing the overall booking experience for your customers.
By following these steps, you can easily enable the ability to take deposits on orders, offering convenience for both your business and your customers.
